Pangasius

Who lives where? Who lives how? What story do these fish have? We are happy to answer these and other questions in our species presentation.

Description

The pangasius is a freshwater fish from the shark catfish or slender catfish family. Thus, it has the typical scaleless, elongated body. The Pangasius lives in groups and is diurnal. It feeds equally on vegetable, but also animal food like algae, water plants but also insects, molluscs and rarely also fruits, crustaceans or other fish. Depending on the oxygen concentration of the surrounding water, the fish breathes not only through its gills, but also its swim bladder, taking in air above the water surface.
